AnaEE is a distributed European-wide infrastructure for experimental research on managed and unmanaged terrestrial and continental aquatic ecosystems. It supports scientists and stakeholders in their analysis, assessment, and forecasting of the impact of climate and other anthropic induced changes on the functions and services ecosystems provide to society.
At the core of AnaEEās approach is the network of distributed experimental facilities, through which ecosystems can be exposed to a series of controlled conditions, from land-use change, pollution, biological invasions, rising atmospheric greenhouse gases concentrations, and to increasing extreme events such as droughts and heatwaves. Mitigation and adaptation measures can be testes, as well as nature-based solutions.
