IBA - Q&Slab is consisting in R&D facilities for evaluation of food quality, safety, authenticity and traceability of foods based on analyses of nutrients and nutraceuticals (vitamins, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, VOCs, amino acids, peptides, carotenoids, β-glucans etc.). The main equipment and methods include: enzymatic methods (e.g. for beta-glucan, dietary fibers), spectroscopic methods (e.g. for trace elements, heavy metals, minerals, edible and essential oils composition), chromatography (e.g. for aminoacids, fatty acid methyl esters, acrylamide, vitamins, mycotoxins, allergens, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity), reology, microbiology, RT-PCR, electrophoresis, sensory analysis (e-nose, colorimeter, texture analyzer and testing booths) .
