MEDINA is a non-profit research organization established in the Health Sciences Technology Park of Granada (Spain) from former Merck Sharp & Dohme Research Labs in Spain, and as a public-private partnership between MSD de EspaƱa S.A (MSD), the Government of Andalusia and the University of Granada. Reference center in natural products (NPs) and drug discovery, and high capacity screening center with technology platforms. Discovery programs of new high value products with application in pharma, agriculture and biotechnology. Cutting-edge facilities and multidisciplinary technology platforms: HTS screening and cell biology, NPs libraries (200K) and strains collections (190K strains), microbial genomics and industrial fermentation, NPs chemistry and metabolomics, bioinformatics and chemoinformatics.
Long track record of collaborations with academic and industrial partners in the Agro-Veg sector on new biocontrol NPs against phytopathogens, and new herbicides.
