The Multi Modal Molecular Imaging (MMMI) Italian Node is a multi-sited Node focused on biomedical imaging, and offering expertise and technical skills for the acquisition and analysis of “in vivo” images obtained by the most relevant state-of-the-art imaging technologies.
For AgroSERV project, MMMI node is making available services for MRI and PET imaging related to agroecology.
PET/SPECT provide the highest-sensitivity detection biomedical imaging method among the available technologies, but requires the use of specific radiotracers that can visualize (with a good quantification potential) specific biological epitopes and study biological reactions. The scanner allows for the registration of a high-spatial resolution CT image that can facilitate the localization of the radiotracer in the sample.
