The Multi Modal Molecular Imaging (MMMI) Italian Node is a multi-sited Node focused on biomedical imaging, and offering expertise and technical skills for the acquisition and analysis of “in vivo” images obtained by the most relevant state-of-the-art imaging technologies.
For AgroSERV project, MMMI node is making available services for MRI and PET imaging related to agroecology.
As far as MRI is concerned, the Node offers a wide array of scanners operating at different magnetic fields from 1 T to 7 T and different sample size (sub-cm to ca. 30 cm in axial view), including instruments equipped with microimaging probes with very high spatial resolution and multinuclear capability (1H, 2H, 13C, 31P, 19F, 23Na) to fully exploit the great potential of the technology.
In addition, the Node offers field cycling NMR relaxometry, in which the measurement of the longitudinal relaxation times of water protons at different magnetic fields (0.0002-1.5 T) is performed in a single instrument, thus enabling a full characterization of the dynamics of water in the sample.
