The Euro-Bioimaging - Czech Advanced Light Microscopy and Medical Imaging Multi Modal Node in Brno provides open access to a wide range of imaging technologies and expertise to all scientists through a unified and coordinated logistics approach. The Advanced Light Microscopy part is organized as a central core facility Cellular Imaging (CELLIM) and several closely cooperating laboratories offering together access to equipment, training and image analysis tools. The Node is specialized in imaging of plant systems, offering super-resolution and mesoscopic microscopes and close collaboration with the Plant Sciences Facility equipped with greenhouses and phytotrons at the same institution.
CELLIM provide access to :
An integral part of our services portfolio is image and data analysis using various open source and commercial software - Cell Profiler, FIJI, Imaris, ZEN. In cooperation with CEITEC research groups and plant sciences core facility we are able to mediate access to the cutting-edge imaging protocols and infrastructure for plant and algae cultivation, as well as for environmental simulation and phenotyping analyses.
The Plant sciences core facility operates 15 walk-in growth chambers (phytotrons) and 10 greenhouses to provide defined growth conditions for controlled plant cultivation. We are able to control the following parameters: temperature, humidity, light intensity and light quality, day and night length. In some chambers various light wavelengths are possible to combine: UV-A (365, 385 nm), violet (400 nm), blue (450 nm), green (525 nm), orange (590 nm), red (665 nm) and far-red (730 nm).Simulation of the following environmental stress conditions is possible to provide: cold stress (≥ +4°C), heat stress (≤ +35°C), drought, alpine light conditions, high light. We also have chambers where various gas conditions (e.g. ethylene or CO2) can be adjusted.
